Curly Hair Product Routine

13:30

Hi beauties! Having curly hair was always a nightmare for me and I spent the majority of my life hating it. Since getting older and realising I valued extra time in bed over having sleek straight hair, I've been leaving it natural and my hair has never been so long or in such good condition!

I always brush my hair before showering with a tangle teezer (the best brushes for knots and tangles fyi), I then wash with a hydrating shampoo and conditioner as this helps keep my frizz at bay. I brush my hair again whilst wet and apply a serum, my all time favourite is the Garnier Ultimate Blends oil, this is the best oil that I've found as it smells delicious, is silky but not greasy and provides heat protection up to 280 degrees. However, because I only apply serum from the mid-lengths to the ends of my hair, I also use an extra heat defence spray for all over but this changes constantly as I haven't found a particular one that I like yet. Lastly, after my hair has dried I use a styling cream suitable for curls to give a smooth and silky finish, at the moment I'm using the one from Frizz Ease which is ok but a little too runny to work with easily.

I only wash my hair twice a week, as any more than that leaves my hair extremely dry and frizzy. On the days when I don't need to wash my hair I use the tangle teezer and serum as normal but use dry shampoo at the roots in order to give my hair extra volume and a boost. Some days I use a small amount of serum on the ends of my hair and a shine spray for the rest of my curls instead of weighing my hair down with the oil. I've only recently been trialling the dry shampoo for brunette hair as I thought this would make life easier and would eradicate all of the grey hair mishaps that occur with normal dry shampoos, however this particular one wasn't very effective and left my hair feeling crunchy and sticky.

Have you tried any brunette dry shampoos that you like?
