Hi lovelies!
I decided to try some of the Revolution make up palettes from Superdrug a few weeks ago as I have heard good things. I originally bought the warm-toned highlight Radiance palette, a blush palette and the Iconic Pro 1 eyeshadow palette however the day after I was in a different Superdrug store and found the Cover & Conceal palette and decided it looked too good to pass up. I have tried all of these palettes and will be giving my first impressions on them in this post with photos to follow when I am no longer on bed rest from my operation, so keep checking back for those!
The first thing to say about the range is that the packaging is very nice, they are lovely full mirror palettes that are lightweight and very sleek looking with a lot of product and choices for the price. Perfect for travelling with.

The Iconic Pro 1 eyeshadow palette is £6.99 for a total of 16 pigmented and creamy eyeshadows, ranging from the light highlights to the darker smoky shades, all of which are easy to apply and blend. Some of my particular favourites are Engima, Luna & Dawn as all over lid shades, Ghost for a contrasting highlight and Afflicted which is a stunning dark aubergine colour, perfect as a dramatic crease colour. I would highly recommend these eyeshadows, they have become a staple in my everyday makeup as well as for nights out and I find myself reaching for some of these, Afflicted in paricular, over my usual MAC favourites.
The Radiance palette, I believe, is the warmer toned highlight palette and costs £8.00, a little more expensive than the eyeshadow palette but you do get three large highlights and in comparison to single highlights from some other brands, it isn't too bad really. The colours are beautiful and very wearable with great colour pay off when swatched, however I do find that they are much more subtly applied when using a brush and so you do have to use a good swirl but the finish is very pretty and gives a nice healthy glow to the skin. This palette has been compared to the Hourglass - Ambient Lighting palette, however I cannot confirm or deny this due to not owning the other palette but from viewing pictures of the two, they do seem very similar and is something worth looking at considering the vast difference in price tag.
The Ultra Blush Palette in 'Sugar & Spice', is £6.00 for six relatively matte blushes and two, what I would label, highlights. It is the more pink-toned of the two palettes, although it does include two more neutral shades and a beautiful peach colour alongside the pinks. The blushes are very pigmented and flattering on the skin, however they do acquire some sparkle from the two highlights on the end which are very shimmery. The blushes are very wearable and are easy to build up, however I personally think the two highlight shades are suited more to people that like a bold highlight as again, they are very shimmery.

The Cover & Conceal palette was an impulse buy if I am totally honest, I saw it after I had bought and tried the other palettes and got excited at the prospect of possibly using this as a cream contour kit. The palette is £6.00 and comes in three possible shades light, medium and dark, this is the 'medium' palette, which includes 8 creams ranging from quite a light beige to a dark orange-toned brown. I experimented with this palette for a while, trying to find various uses for the shades and while they are ok at covering slight discolouration, they crease and are too drying for undereye or use on spots. I would definitely say there are better options in the drugstore and I will not be using this palette for concealer purposes. Some uses I have found for the palette though, which I am quite enjoying, are as a brow/lip clean up/highlight and basic contour. I use the mid beige tones with an angled brush to clean up the edges of my brows, a step I very rarely used to do as I didn't want to waste my more expensive concealers but that I find is very effective and I use this system to also clean up lipstick lines when using darker tones, giving a much cleaner and effective look. Lastly, I mix the three darkest shades together and use this as a base for contour on my cheeks, around my forehead and temples and under my bottom lip, the colours aren't suitable for my skin tone without mixing but do then create a nice definition on to which I use my regular powder products.
Overall, the eyeshadows and blushes are my favourites out of the selection, as I believe them to be great value for money whereas the concealer and highlight palettes are ok and useable but not something I couldn't replace or think I will reach for as much in comparison to other similar products.
Have you tried anything from the range?
