What I Got For Christmas

08:17

Hi lovelies I hope you all had an incredible Christmas, I certainly did!
I spent all of the festive season surrounded by family and friends, including my two beautiful little nieces who were celebrating their first Christmas, playing board games and eating more than my body weight in chocolate. To me, my favourite thing about Christmas is Christmas itself, I just love the atmosphere and the excitement during the run up, spending time with loved ones. In some ways I prefer Christmas eve to Christmas day as the excitement and magic seems to deplete after about lunch time on the 25th and then I just feel sad that it's coming to an end. That being said, of course giving and receiving presents is a lovely part of the holidays, it's so satisfying going shopping and finding the perfect gift for someone and I'm basically just really nosy so What I got for Christmas posts are one of my absolute faves! So here is a snippet of some of the lovely gifts that I received this year and I will try to link as many of them as I can. I'm one of those people that appreciates absolutely anything somebody does for me whether that is buying a present or a kind gesture, it's just the best feeling knowing that someone has put thought/effort in to getting you something that you will love and this year, I got a lot of gifts that people knew I would absolutely adore.

1. The Friends box set, I've wanted this for years and have come close to buying it for myself numerous times, however I just couldn't justify spending that amount of money on episodes of a tv show, even if it was Friends but this will definitely be keeping me company whilst I write my dissertation.  2. The unicorn travel mug is just perfect for me, it's beautiful and I love unicorns. It was bought in order for me to take hot drinks with me when I travel to and from university/the library, which seeing as this is my last year, I'm sure I will be doing very frequently. 3. The Wedding Fund pot was bought as a joint present for Billy and I by his Mum, I love the idea of these and although we aren't planning on setting the date anytime in the near future, it will allow us to hopefully start to save money little by little. 4. I received numerous perfumes this year but one which was a complete surprise was Calvin Klein, One - Summer. I hadn't ever seen this anywhere before but it is lovely and so up my street. It is the perfect scent for a holiday somewhere warm, as it smells like citrus fruits and just reminds me of summer cocktails. 5. The Mango Peach Salsa Yankee Candle  is one of my all time favourite scents and just so happens to also be my favourite colour. It smells exactly as you would imagine a peach and mango candle to smell, light and sweet, perfect for spring/summer.

The next two perfumes I had smelt and knew that I liked before receiving them, however being someone that is fussy with scents, I really don't mind this. The first perfume is Giorgio Armani - Si my all time favourite fragrance, this is the second bottle that I've had and certainly won't be the last. I first bought this in Rome, September 2014 where Billy proposed to me and so now it reminds me of all those lovely memories. The second perfume I knew I was getting was Ariane Grande, this perfume I smelt in Boots and fell in love with. Still in keeping with my usual scents, it's very light and fruity, great for day or night and plus the bottle is adorable!

The last few items are beauty related, always a good choice with me as I am a self confessed make-up hoarder, I just love having choices and trying different things. One of my favourite foundations for events or nights out is Estee Lauder - Double Wear, it's a heavy duty foundation that stays in place for a heck of a long time and looks flawless. Whenever I get compliments on my skin/base looking good, it is always this and although it is a high coverage liquid, it doesn't appear thick and is easy to blend in and build up, they also have a great range of colours and offer colour match services. On the other end of the budget scale, is the Soap and Glory - Glow All Out luminizing highlighter, a gorgeous, light, peachy highlighting powder that is really pigmented and builds effortlessly. The Clinique - Chubby Sculpting Contour Stick, makes contouring effortless and so quick! I use this to draw lines in the areas that need to be contoured and then blend it with my Real Techniques sponge, it's so much quicker than powders I've used previously and a lot more effective. The Estee Lauder Pure Colour Blush in Peach Passion was a complete surprise but so beautiful! It's a gorgeously pigmented peachy blush colour that blends and builds so well and has a beautiful fine gold sparkle to it. Lastly, one of my all time favourite Lush products is their Mint Julips Lip Scrub, that tastes and smells like After Eights but during Christmas time they bring out their Santa's scrub that smells of cherries and has adorable little hearts inside.

I'm so thankful for everything that I got and would love to know what any of you received.

Happy New Year!
