"I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year." - Charles Dickens

Hiya Beauties!

Merry Christmas!

I cannot believe Christmas has come around so fast, it's crazy! I just wanted to write a little post just to wish anyone that reads this a truly magical Christmas. I hope you get to spend this lovely festive time surrounded by your nearest and dearest, playing games, singing carols and eating so many mince pies that you can't bear to lay eyes on them for another year (that's certainly me - every year).

It's easy to forget what's important at this time of year, what with everyone always being in such a rush, shops being chaotic and having an endless list of preparations. I've been so busy this Christmas, having a temporary retail job has meant I can afford to buy people more luxurious gifts this year but at the cost of not actually being able to spend time with them. I hadn't even realised just how much of the festivities I was missing out on until, I sat on my own in my room at university, a few days ago and the loneliness hit me. Suddenly work didn't seem important any more, all I wanted was my family.
I've now come home and it's strange but just taking a moment to stop in the midst of all the chaos, I find myself really appreciating all of the little things that I never noticed before, such as the tacky but sweet decorations Mum still puts on the tree every year, I think there's even one on there from when I was three! Home-made mince pies (shop bought ones just aren't the same) and how pretty everything is, reds and golds with a coating of glitter. I've really found appreciation for things I usually just take for granted.

So I urge you to take a moment away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas mania and just look around you and appreciate all of the small, lovely things and traditions that you have, you may be surprised at what you notice!

P.S, I accidentally saved this as a draft instead of publishing it, hence why I'm wishing you a merry Christmas on New Year's day. Oops!
