The Erin Condren Life Planner
10:56Hiya beauties!
I don't know about you guys but at the moment I have been seeing a lot of things, all of which have been great, about the Erin Condren planners. I'm a massive planner person, I've kept diaries since the age of eight and ever since my first school study guide at the end of primary school, I have been obsessed with planning out my life. I used to just use a daily planner with just plain paper but after seeing these on blogs and YouTube, I just couldn't resist... Plus the stickers you can get are super cute!
I ordered the 12 month life planner, which as I received this back in April wasn't too bad, it was also on sale and I also had a coupon code! The delivery was very fast and only took around two weeks from ordering to receiving it. The packaging is incredibly well thought out and super pretty and colourful and as with the entire planner, incorporates lovely little life quotes.
As you can see the planner is wrapped up in protective bubble wrap and then covered in beautiful paper! You get all of the obvious information about the planner and Erin Condren but you also recieve lovely little extras such as life quote and personalised gift stickers and a lovely life quote postcode.
My planner is only customised with my name, the design itself is just a standard quote cover, which is detachable so that you can change your covers whenever you like and the clear ruler provided is also detachable which is quite a nice little extra!
As you can see, the planner is filled with lovely inspirational quotes which I personally love as they keep me feeling positive and motivated. After the first initial quote pages, you get a yearly calendar spread, I don't usually ever find use for these but I could see that they would be useful maybe for people with families to track bills/paydays or family events etc.
The months are distinctly colour coded with easy navigational tabs. At the beginning of every month there is a monthly spread, which I actually use a lot for general tracking of important events such as doctors appointments, birthdays, holidays, work days etc. It makes time management super easy as you can see all of the most important events in one place without having to flick back and forth between pages. After the initial monthly spread, The month is then split in to Monday-Friday weekly spreads with the dates at the top and room at the sides and below for notes etc. I particularly like that the weeks start on Monday rather than Sunday, as being at University and having work placements within schools, the weeks are broken down Monday to Friday rather than the typical Sunday to Sunday.
As you can see there is plenty of room to write notes at the side which I do find very handy for making general lists of accomplishments for the week and then splitting this over the specific days. However the space at the bottom I don't really use due to thee headings and the lines, which is a shame as I do think another smaller blank box would have been more useful but I can see what people could use it for meal planning etc. I just personally don't track that sort of thing.
The days are sectioned in to morning day and night, which is sometimes helpful as you can plan work events and then evening events separately, however most of the time I do a general daily plan and ignore the subheadings.
At the back of the planner there is a good amount of lined and plain paper for notes, which I initially didn't think I would really use, however I do use these quite a lot for long term list making such as blog ideas, products to repurchase/try and also simple recipes that I've tried and want to have handy.
You also get a few more yearly calendars for the following years, however I haven't used these yet and don't think I will but this is probably because at this point in my life I'm not attending events/planning things this far in advance yet but it would be useful for tracking dates such as weddings in advance ready to transfer to your next planner.
Next are four pages of stickers, two with pre-printed events such as doctors appointment, birthdays etc. and two sheets of blank coloured stickers. Although I feel that the random pre-printed stickers will mostly go to waste as I don't track days off or go to things such as concerts or games, I have found great use for the blank coloured stickers and the birthdays to keep track of events on my monthly spreads.
At the very back of the planner there is a two sided card pocket/folder, which is quite strong and I have found very useful for keeping track of important information such as hospital letters with appointments on and also keeping things together in a place where I will know where to find it when I come to need it, such as gym class timetables and event information.
You also receive inside this pocket an A5 perpetual calendar to keep track of the important yearly events such as birthdays, anniversaries etc. It also has a double page at the back for important numbers and contacts which I think is very useful for transferring information from planner to planner, as well as having important details handy.
The last part of the planner was the aspect I thought 'what am I going to do with this?' as there is a sealed plastic pouch attached. Inside the pouch are more personalised and standard gift stickers, as well as little note cards and two coil clips that you can use to attach things to pages within your planner, all of which I really like and think are a great extra!
I had no idea what to put in the plastic pouch as I initially thought of using it for stationary storage for my planner but that made it too bulky and wasn't practical but now I have been using my planner for a few months, it has become the place where I store coupons/vouchers, giftcards, important receipts and information such as appointment cards and invitations etc. that I am still yet to put in to my planner so that I remember. It is incredibly useful and has helped me keep things more organised and helped me to stop losing important information!
Sorry for the long post but I thought it would be nice if you're considering buying this planner to show an in depth first look at what you receive, I would 100% recommend these to anybody and will be purchasing another in January for 2016! I have been using mine for quite a while now and have a nice stock pile of stickers and tape etc. that I like to use so if you're interested in seeing how I plan/decorate then let me know!
