LONDON'S CALLING! ♥

11:32

So, as I told you in a previous blog, Saturday morning at 7 am I set off for the bright lights of London!

My beautiful Sister and I on the coach, heading to London! (sorry for the blurred picture)

These are just some scenic shots in Hyde Park and the one below is the view of the BBC and Wembley in the distance from Shepherd's Bush Westfield Centre.

My Auntie and I in Hyde Park.

I was incredibly excited to go shopping and see sights in London, however our day didn't go as planned...

Our coach dropped us off at Hyde Park, which is nice but it was absolutely freezing! We spent 20 minutes walking through Hyde Park, when my Uncle started to feel ill from the cold so we decided it was time to go into somewhere warmer. We went into Harrods and had a mooch around for a couple of hours, it was a palava it was though, I can tell you! My sister has to temporarily use a wheelchair if she is walking longer distances, such as going around London, as she had an operation on her knee before Christmas. Trying to navigate your way through Harrods with a person in a wheelchair is a total nightmare! You have to go out of your way to find a lift and then to try to get to one specific departments, for example: the Toy section, you have to double back on yourself and go through various other departments just to get to the one you want because there isn't a ramp beside the steps for wheelchair access! Not a huge fan of Harrods, I must say.

We decided because of the arctic temperatures, to go somewhere that'd be warm for the rest of the day and so we got two taxis to the Shepherd's Bush Westfield Centre (at extortionate prices). I must say I was rather disappointed that I wouldn't get to see much other than shops that I can see at home but I had a lovely day nonetheless. I will do a little haul of items soon, as some are currently in the wash!

One thing I will say which isn't necessarily London-related is the fact that people are so ignorant about people in wheelchairs! In the Westfield centre, I would be pushing/stood with my sister, sat in her wheelchair completely normal, chatting away, excited about what she'd bought. When I'd notice people either glancing at her and then taking second looks, completely out-right staring at her until they noticed me frowning at them and then guiltily looked away or staring at her for that long they weren't watching where they were going and nearly tripped up! It was simply rediculous, sure people might look at her and then look away, fine but when you get people staring at you, it begins to get annoying.

Anyway, sorry for the mini rant at the end :) London 'What's in my trolley will be posted shortly' but for now I'm going to love you and leave you.
