Review - GOSH X-ceptional Wear Foundation
05:02GOSH X-ceptional Wear Foundation has been my go-to, everyday foundation for the past two years. I used to switch between various different foundations, including mousse, cream, liquid and cream to powder. However, as soon as I discovered this liquid foundation by GOSH, I haven't been able to switch to any other, I have purchased other various brands but I always go back to this one. I can be found at www.superdrug.com (this is where I purchase mine) and costs only £7.99, not a lot for a good foundation.
Sorry for the tatty appearance, I've had it lying around for a long time.
The first time I purchased this, I went for 18 Sunny, as pictured above, I had tried it on my hand in shop and then applied a little to my jaw line and it seemed like my colour at the time, until I got it home.
I applied the foundation at home and it looked nice, it has good coverage, which you can definitely build up and an overall nice, dewy look. It doesn't feel like you are wearing much make-up at all.
However, when I went outside and happened to see my reflection, it looked a little more orange toned than I had first thought. Now, don't get me wrong, it isn't going to make your face look bright orange, like a cheesey whatsit or like you've been tangoed. But it does look too orange for me, someone who would rather look a little paler than look anywhere near orange-toned. I just don't think it matched my skin tone very well. So, I went back to the shop and bought the next shade down 16 Golden. I tried this one and adored it and have used it ever since. I compared the two shades and realised there's not much of a jump in colour from the 16 Golden to the next shade up, 18 Sunny, they are both very similar except one is slightly more orange and the other a more biscuit tone.
16 Golden on the left and 18 Sunny on the right.
So, if you're like me and would hate to look remotely orange tinged but are around these two for colouring, go for the 16 Golden, it has more of a natural colouring than the 18 Sunny and won't leave you wondering if you look like you've just been in a fight with a satsuma and lost. :)
Hope this helps.
Lot's of Love
