"Beneath the makeup and behind the smile, I am just a girl who wishes for the world." - Marilyn Monroe

Hiya Beauties!
I went on holiday to Rome last week with my boyfriend Billy, it was my first trip abroad so you can imagine how excited I was to explore duty free, let's just say I was like a kid in a candy shop or realistically just a girl in a make up shop. Poor Billy...
With some euros I had leftover from my main splurge in duty free on the way home, I decided to purchase a new The Body Shop body butter in a peach scent. If you've never tried the body butters before, you really should they moisturise like a dream without feeling greasy.
Usually when I get anything from The Body Shop, it is always in the grapefruit fragrance as I adore it. However, I'd never noticed the peach scent before and I adore anything that tastes or smells of peaches and this did not disappoint, I urge you to go and give this a sniff if you like sweet, fruity scents!
When I worked at Boots last year, in the fragrance and beauty department, I fell in love with the Giorgio Armani Si perfume. It smells heavenly and I have copied the notes from The Perfume Shop, as I am rubbish at telling anything from perfume other than whether it's nice or not.
Heart notes: Rose de Mai Absolute, Neroli Absolute & Egyptian Jasmine Absolute
Top notes: Sicilian Bergamot, Mandarin Oil & Liquer de Cassis
Base notes: Patchouli Oil, Blond Woods, Amber, Orcanox & Vanille Absolute
I've continually heard people rave about Benefit's They're Real! mascara, however I've never been a massive mascara junkie, the most I ever have at a time is two as I they just don't excite me. Having broken my mascara wand off in the tube whilst on holiday, I decided to buy a miniature tube to test from Sephora and so far so good. My eyelashes are very picky and I find the best way to use this on mine is to apply two or three light coatings, allowing for drying time in between, I'll be sure to write up a review after a little more use!
I'm starting to build a little collection of MAC lipsticks now, it really is a little collection compared to most peoples' but I have a nice array of colours, however most of the are bright and not your 'everyday' colour. I've previously bought MAC's Brave, which is my most used lipstick and seeing as this is nearly all gone, I wanted something similar and decided to pick up Modesty a beautiful brown-nude Cremesheen. I think Cremesheens are definitely my favourite finish, they're ultra moisturising but still pigmented!
Everyone deserves a splurge
I'm not someone that will usually justify spending as much on makeup as I did in duty free on the way home but having saved my spending money for Rome and ending up with a considerable amount left, the voice in my head kept saying I go on, treat yourself, you're on holiday! So I did.
I am a major lipstick junkie, I admit it and I know I have way more lipsticks than any one woman should have but they make me happy and lipstick can really transform how you look.
Ok, I'll stop trying to make myself feel less guilty now...
I was originally going to buy a YSL lipstick as their packaging is just to die for but there wasn't a particular shade that struck any interest in me and so off I went in search of Chanel. I purchased the Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in 89 Satisfaction (did anyone else start singing that in their head, just me? Alrighty then...) The finish of these lipticks are very similar to MAC's Cremesheen lipsticks, they're super moisturing, yet suprisingly pigmented. However when I swatched this lipstick it had appeared a more brown nude, which I prefer as I have quite purple toned lips and tend to look dead with paler nudes, but when I applied it on to my lips at home it appeared much lighter than expected, it's still wearable but different to what I was expecting.
I was going to buy the Soleil Tan De Chanel but they didn't have any in stock and so I bought a powder blush in the shade 82 Reflex, which is a beautiful golden peach. It has a lot of shimmer and glitter throughout and reminds me of MAC's mineralize blushes/skin finishes and so I was a little apprehensive as to whether this would make me look like a glitterball, not an awful thing but a little over the top for everyday... Luckily, it looks heavenly on the skin and is greatly pigmented, so you really only need to use a light hand.
Ah Chanel VitaLumiere Aqua, you beauty!
I've heard a lot of good things surrounding this foundation, especially from http://fleurdeforce.blogspot.co.uk who raves about how amazing this foundation makes your skin look whilst still being ultra light. It was hard to try to colour match myself as the counter was particularly dark, however I decided on 32 Beige Rose and having tried it since I got home, it is a perfect match and is now a firm favourite. If you have problem skin or like a fuller coverage, this really isn't for you but if you like something that's light and particularly moisturising, I highly recommend it.
I'll be doing separate blog posts on a few of these items with more swatches etc. soon!
